York Minster, York

Perhaps Yorkshire’s most recognizable landmark, York Minster is one of the largest cathedrals in the United Kingdom. A stunning building that everyone should really take the time to see. Entry to the cathedral is free although most people make a small donation. Opening times are 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and 12noon to 3.45pm on Sunday. York Dungeons

Torture and death aplenty at York Dungeons – one of the county’s most popular tourist attractions. Fascinating but not for the faint hearted. Admission is £9.95 for adults and £5.95 for children for 10am to 5pm in April to September. During the winter months the dungeons open from 10.30am to 4.30pm. The Deep, Hull

This ship shaped museum takes a look at all aspects of marine life with a particularly impressive collection of sharks. One of Yorkshire’s best tourist attractions. Sheffield Ski Village, Sheffield

A mile long ski slope and village offering a wide variety of activities from snowboarding to tobogganing. Lessons and hire equipment are available at all times.
