But what else does the county have to offer? In no particular order, here are our suggestions for things to do in Yorkshire : Flamingo Land, Malton An exciting mix of wild animals including tigers, monkeys and of course flamingos. And if that was not enough you can also take a ride on the zoo’s many roller coasters. Admission to Flamingo Land is £16.50 for adults and £15.50 for children from 10am to 5pm from March to October. Bolton Abbey, Skipton Some of the most picturesque Yorkshire countryside lies in this gigantic estate which stretches for over 80 miles. Don’t get lost! Harewood House, Leeds As well as a beautiful house and stunning gardens, Harewood is also one of the England’s biggest aviaries with over a hundred rare birds on show. National Railway Museum, York
Royal Armouries Museum, Leeds The home of the nation’s arms, the museum is a must for all military enthusiasts. So many displays covering so many periods of history – you could spend all day here and not see everything. Admission is free although you will have to pay a few pounds to park. National Museum of Photography, Film and Television, Bradford Very popular museum with literally millions of items on display. It makes a real change from paintings and sculptures.
