The county of West Sussex not only possesses a fantastic stretch of south coast but it also includes the beautiful scenery of the South Downs. There's a picturesque village around every corner and the historic towns of Arundel and Chichester are simply not to be missed. Here are some suggestions for a great day out in West Sussex:

Arundel Castle, Arundel

WWT Arundel, Arundel

This marvelous open space sits below Arundel castle and is home to a huge variety of wildlife with many rare species on show. If you like birds, you'll wont find a better day out in England. Admission is £5.75 for adults and £3.50 for the children every day from 9.30am to 5.30pm. In December the wetlands close an hour earlier at 4.30pm. Petworth House, Petworth

Petworth House is one of the finest 17th century buildings in the county and is home to a large collection of wonderful art work. The Capability Brown designed gardens are featured in many of Turner's most famous paintings. Entry to the house is currently £7 for adults and £4 for the kids from 11am till 5.30pm every day of the week except Thursdays and Fridays.
