Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Stratford upon Avon

Stratford’s most famous son has really but the lovely Warwickshire town on the map. Of all the Shakespeare related buildings in the town, this house where the writer was born in 1564 is perhaps the most important. Admission is £6.50 for adults and £2.50 for children every day from 10.30am to 5pm. The house closes at 4pm in the winter months. Charlecote Park, nr Wellesbourne

Charlecote Park is a majestic Tudor house with extensive grounds and the added attraction of a Capability Brown deer park. Admission is currently £6.40 for adults and £3.20 for children every day except Monday from March through December. The house generally opens from 12pm to 5pm and the gardens from 10.30am to 6pm. Ragley Hall, Alcester

A beautiful house set in almost 30 acres of wonderful gardens and parkland. Inside Ragley Hall you will find an Aladdin’s cave of amazing murals, paintings and antique furniture. Admission is £7.50 for adults and £4.50 for the kids from Thursday to Sunday, April through September. The house opens from 12pm to 5.30pm and the gardens are open from 10am to 6pm.
