Choose a city

Venice is undoubtedly one of Europe's most beautiful cities and is an ideal destination for a short break. Only Paris can rival this Italian jewel in terms of love and romance. A truly unique place to visit. In no particular order, here are our suggestions for things to do in Venice:

Grand Canal

The Grand Canal in Venice is one of the most beautiful stretches of water anywhere in the world. The three kilometre canal weaves through the glorious city passing many of its most famous buildings. The canal is the best way to see the city and of course the only way to travel is by gondola. But be warned, a 45 minute trip will burn a £50 hole in your purse.

Basilica di San Marco

St Mark’s Cathedral dominates the beautiful St Mark’s square. The current basilica was built between in 1063 although decoration work continued for several hundred years. The majestic building is matched by its stunning interior with 17th mosaics and five 11th-century domes.

St Mark's Square

St Mark's Square is the heart of Venice with the 99m tall Campanilee towering above it. This fascinating square is the main meeting place in the city where hundreds of tourists gather to absorb the grace and grandeur of this wonderful city.

Gallerie dell’Accademia

The Accademia is the home of Venetian painting and one of the greatest galleries in Europe. The phenomenal collection includes works by Canaletto, Guardi and Carpaccio. One of the most popular attractions in Venice.
