Runnymede, Old Windsor

Runnymede is the historic stretch of land on the banks of the River Thames where the Magna Carta was signed in 1215. There are also memorials to John F Kennedy and the Royal Air Force men killed during World War II. Runnymede is free for everyone although you will have to pay for parking. Wisley Gardens, nr Woking

Along with Kew, Wisley is arguably the finest garden in the South East of England. The tremendous diversity of plants and flowers continues over all 240 acres of the grounds. Admission is £7 for adults and just £2 for the kids every day from 10am till 6pm seven days a week. At the weekend the gardens open an hour earlier at 9am. Kew Gardens, Kew

Kew Gardens are perhaps the most famous gardens in all of Europe. With nearly fifty thousand varieties of plants stretched over 300 acres of beautifully kept grounds, it's easy to see why.
