Staffordshire is blessed with several areas of outstanding natural beauty - The National Forest, Cannock Chase, Staffordshire Moorlands and the Peak District are all right on its doorstep. And with fantastic Georgian architecture, beautiful gardens and estates and of course the greatest theme park in the United Kingdom, Staffordshire is certainty not a county to be missed. Alton Towers, Alton

Blackbrook Zoological Park, Winkhill

Blackbrook has all the exotic animals you would expect to see in a zoo if this size but it also contains many British species to admire. Admission is currently £6.50 for adults and £3.95 for the children every day from 10.30am to 5pm. One of Staffordshire's best attractions for kids. Shugborough, Milford

Shugborough is perhaps the finest Georgian residence in the county. Within the grounds there is also a fully working farm with many animals for the kids to enjoy. Entry to the house is £6 for adults and £4 for children from 11am to 5pm every day except Monday from March through to September.
