| Choose a city | The vibrant city of Seville is the artistic and cultural capital of southern Spain. In the beautiful region of Andalucia, Seville is often overlooked in favour of Madrid or Barcelona. However, more and more people are choosing to visit this fascinating city every year. Here are our recommendations for things to do in Seville: Seville Cathedral
Alcazar Alcazar is a stunning fortified palace built by the Moors in the 11th century. Home to Seville’s rulers for several hundreds years, the huge buildings are surrounding by lush gardens filled with grottos, fountains and hundreds of beautiful plants and flowers. One of the most visited attractions in Spain.
Museo de Bellas Artes The Fine Arts Museum houses the best collection of Spanish art outside of Madrid. Highlights include the Domingo Martínez mural covered ceiling and pieces by Zurbarán and Murillo. Highly recommended.
Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza The Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza is Seville’s famous bullring. Right by the river, the beautiful white building is regarded by many as the most prestigious in the world. The bullfighting season begins on Easter Monday and visitors can attend a show every Sunday all through the summer. Witnessing a bullfight is a tremendous experience, although one tarnished by the animal cruelty on display. Clearly not for everyone. |
