Whale watching

Reykjavik offers some of the best whale watching in Europe. Regular tours take you out to the bay where you'll see dolphins, minke whales and maybe even the odd humpback whale. The highly recommended tours also visit Lundey island where up to 25,000 puffins huddle together.

Hallgrímskirkja

The impressive Hallgrímskirkja dominates the Reykjavik’s skyline. The Gothic church was built in the 1940's and is now one of the city's most celebrated buildings. The viewing platform in the tower offers amazing views of the city and the distant mountains.
