| Choose a city | The mother of cities. The golden city. The city of a hundred spires. Prague certainly has a lot to live up to but invariably the Czech capital does just that. One of the most beautiful cities in Europe, it is is also among the most visited cities on the continent. Take a look at some of the most popular tourist attractions in Prague: St Vitus’s Cathedral
Old Town Square The Old Town Square is home to the Old Town Hall and the famous Astronomical Clock. The square is blessed with a series of baroque and medieval structures, and is the main meeting place in the city. Every hour the Astronomical Clock puts on a great little show with wooden statuettes of saints emerging from trap doors. Have a coffee in one of the nearby cafes to fully appreciate the wonderful surroundings.
Charles Bridge The beautiful stone built Charles Bridge bridge was completed in 1357 and remains Prague's most famous landmark. It has also become a tremendous shopping experience where painters, designers and traders offer tourists their impressive work. Arrive early to beat the crowds.
Prague Castle Dating from around AD 870, Prague Castle has had a long and turbulent history. With countless redesigns and additions, the castle acts like a timeline through the centuries with fine examples from all the main periods of architectural history. |
