by Amy McAdams

Miami has all the attractions of a large American city but also the location of an exotic beach resort. There is so much to see and do, many people return year after year. It's simply an incredible place to visit. Take a look at some of the most popular things to do in Miami:

The Biltmore

The Biltmore is one of Florida's most recognizable landmarks. Opened in 1926, this beautiful hotel with its 91m bell tower, is a truly special place. With the largest pool in the US and great bars and restaurants, this is a must-see on any trip to Miami. Highly recommended even if you're not staying there.

South Beach

South Beach is the the most recognizable area of Miami. This fabulous stretch of beach includes Ocean Drive with its art deco buildings and some of the best beaches in the country. This is the place to see and be seen. It's where the beautiful people show off their perfect bodies. And it's where tourists come to stare at them!

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

There is so much to do in Miami it can be difficult to narrow down the long list of attractions. But whatever you do, don't overlook the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens. Set on Biscayne Bay, this unique Italian Renaissance-style villa is a spectacular place to visit. The museum is full of European art and antiques spanning from the 16th to the 19th century. The stunning gardens boast fountains, pools, a maze and a casino!

Little Havana

Little Havana is a fascinating area of Miami that sprung up as as result of the thousands of Cubans who fled to Miami after the Cuban Revolution in 1959. If you didn't know better, you could easy forget that you were in the middle of Miami. The best time to visit is on the last Friday of every month, when a Cuban-style block party called Cultural Fridays take place.

More city attractions

Why not jump on the plane for some fun in the sun in Spain. There are so many fabulous things to do in Barcelona and the cultural attractions in Madrid are also first class.

You could also take trip to the USA and enjoy the many great things to do in San Francisco or the seemingly limitless attractions of New York. This huge country really has a city to suit everyone's tastes.

And finally, if you want to spend your holidays somewhere a little different, there's no place better than South America. The exciting attractions in Rio and the interesting things to see in Buenos Aires will leave you coming back for more.
