| Choose a city | Kuala Lumpur is the largest city of Malaysia. with an estimated population of 1.7 million in 2006. The nation's capital contains the official residence of the Malaysian King, and offers a great deal for tourists to see and do. Take a look at a selection of the major attractions in Kuala Lumpur: Petronas Towers
Bukit Bintang Walk The Bukit Bintang Walk is the heart of the city's shopping attractions. This thriving area of the city is full of high end hotels and shopping malls. However, these modern delights are offset by tiny side streets with traditional curry vendors and foot massage establishments. A great atmosphere, particularly at night, where people simply stroll around eating, drinking, shopping and having fun. Highly recommended.
Chinatown Chinatown in Kuala Lumpur is a real traditional Chinese quarter, not one of the sterile versions favored by many major cities. Duck vendors, satay stalls, cheap hotels - it's alive with activity. The food everywhere is great but head to Jalan Tun Cheng Lock for something truly special.
Lake Gardens Lake Gardens is a tropical oasis in what can be a very dry, oppressively hot city. This huge green space is filled with ancient trees, ponds and the occasional monkey! Many tourists pop into Lake Gardens every day, just for an hour or so to relax and chill out. Beautiful. |
