travel: home swaps A guide to the holiday home swaps |

| by Elizabeth Parry We all love going on holiday but holidays do come at a price and that price is money. But what if you could experience a new county and culture and only have to pay for your traveling costs? Free accommodation - surely not. But there is a way and that way is through a home swap. The basis of a holiday home swap is that you and your family spend a week in someone else's house and they spend the week in yours. It's like going on a villa holiday without having to pay for the villa - a whole house and everything in it for absolutely nothing. Sounds great? Well yes, but like most things in life there are disadvantages as well as the obvious advantages. But first lets take a look at those plus points:
- it's a free holiday (except flights, insurance and agency fees). You will save yourself a huge amount of money particularly if you have a large family - you will be walking into a house with most, all or even more of the comforts of your own home. - you usually get the free use of your exchange partner's car (although you will have to arrange insurance) - you can literally go anywhere in the world just as long as you can find someone willing to swap |
