Choose a city

Exeter is very much the regional capital for culture and leisure. And with over 700 shops, many of them unique independent stores and boutiques, there's plenty of ways to spend your money. Exeter also makes a great base from which to explore the Jurassic Coast and the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor. In no particular order, here are our suggestions for things to do in Exeter:

Exeter's Underground Passages

Exeter's Underground Passages allow you to enter a world of underground pipes and passages. Walk beneath the city and take a step back in time. A newly opened visitor centre is packed with interactive exhibits and improved interpretation. Telephone 01392 665887 for further details.

Saddles and Paddles

Saddles and Paddles offer a great day out for those who love the great outdoors. From their quay side shop you can hire a canoe or a bike and explore the Exeter river valley park. A terrific way to enjoy the sights of Exeter whilst getting a great workout. For further details call 01392 424241.

Exeter Cathedral

Exeter Cathedral is one of Europe's most beautiful Mediaeval cathedrals. This wonderfully decorated Gothic building is famous for its two Norman towers and the longest unbroken stretch of Gothic vaulting in the world. Highly recommended for all the family. For more information telephone 01392 255573.
