Brighton successfully balances traditional English seaside fun with south coast style and the result is wonderful pace to visit. But there is more to East Sussex than Brighton. Brighton Pier, Brighton The Palace Pier is a fantastic mix of old fashioned seaside fun with modern thrills and spills. It should be one of your first ports of call whenever you visit Brighton. Bluebell Railway, Sheffield Green The wonderful Bluebell Railway takes you all the way from Lewes to East Grinstead in some style. The old steam railway line twists and turns through wonderful Sussex countryside giving you a sense of life in the early 20th century. Tickets cost £9 for adults and £4.50 for the kids every day from 11am to 4pm. In the winter, the railway only operates at weekends.
