The Sphinx The Sphinx is one of Cairo's most celebrated attractions. The majestic monument with a lion’s body and a woman’s head, is an awe-inspiring sight. Made of limestone, the Sphinx measures 50m long and 22m high. No trip to Cairo would be complete without visiting this amazing structure.
The Citadel The Citadel is a fantastic complex of museums as well as the Sultan Al-Nasir and Suleyman Pasha Mosques. This is one of Cairo's most visited attractions. You could spend several hours here and not even see half of the exhibits. A great place to learn about Cairo's history and culture. Opening hours at The Citadel are from 8am-6pm in the summer months and from 8am-5pm during the rest of the year.
Cairo Tower Cairo Tower is a 187m structure situated on the island of Gezira in the Nile. Built during the presidency of Gamal Abdel Nasser (1956-70), the Tower resembles a modern art minaret and dominates the skyline. Visit the roof deck for wonderful views of the city and desert. Opening hours at the Cairo Tower are from 8am to midnight every day of the week. |
