Choose a city

Buenos Aires is the capital and largest city of Argentina. On the southeastern coast of the South American continent, this fascinating city has become popular in recent years with tourists looking for something a little different. Here are our suggestions for things to do in Buenos Aires:

Edificio Kavanagh

The Edificio Kavanagh was South America’s tallest building when built in 1935. Standing at an impressive 120m, this apartment block is one of the most important art deco landmarks in South America. A great photograph opportunity.

Jardín Japones

Jardín Japones, or The Japanese Garden, is a beautiful open space with giant koi carp, ornate bridges, an attractive a tearoom, a delicious Japanese restaurant and so much more. This is one of the most popular attractions in Buenos Aires and rightly so. A lovely oasis in a large city.

Cementerio de la Recoleta

Opened in 1822, Recoleta Cemetery is one of the South America's great necropolises. With Argentine presidents among the rich and powerful buried here, this is a great insight into the history of the country. And of course, the cemetery is also the final resting place of María Eva Duarte de Perón, otherwise known as Evita.

El Abasto

El Abasto is an art deco masterpiece built in 1930 and 1934 as a wholesale market. The wonderful building was unfortunately neglected until 1998 when the structure was converted into a shopping mall. Great shops in a beautiful building - what a combination!
