| Choose a city | The largest city in New England, Boston is a terrific place to visit all year round. Just a short distance from New York, this Massachusetts city is a more relaxing alternative to The Big Apple and a perfect place to let off some steam. Here are a few suggestions for things to do in Boston: Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum
Museum opening hours are from 11am-5pm Tuesday to Sunday.
Institute of Contemporary Art The Institute of Contemporary Art is one of the most important modern art museums in the the country. The new state-of-the-art new glass building is located on Boston’s waterfront and provides a fantastic environment in which to appreciate the fascinating collections.
Harvard University Perhaps the most famous university the world, Harvard is just a short distance from Boston city centre. The college has more than 400 buildings but for the quintessential Harvard experience, head to Harvard Yard. This grassy, tree-lined area dates back to 1720 and is the more than likely the Harvard you will have seen at the movies. The Harvard art museums, on Quincy Street, are also well worth a visit.
The Freedom Trail The Freedom Trail is 2.5 mile tour marked by a red line on the pavement, which takes you past the majority of Boston's main historical attractions. This is a great way to see the city and if you stick to the red line you'll never get lost! |
