| Choose a city | Berlin is the capital largest city of Germany and one of sixteen states of Germany. Located in northeastern Germany, the city has developed into one of the most popular city break destinations in Europe, offering a wide range of attractions and activities. Here are our suggestions for things to do in Berlin: Brandenburg Gate
A wonderful structure, and of course a great photo opportunity!
Reichstag The original Reichstag was burned to the ground in 1933, many believe by the Nazis themselves as an excuse to suspend basic freedoms. After its glorious renovation by the world famous architect Sir Norman Foster, the Reichstag is back to it's former glory. It is also once again home to the the German parliament. Opening hours are from 8am to midnight every day of the week.
Tiergarten Tiergarten is Berlin’s central park and its sheer size dominates this area of the city. The Berlin Wall once ran along the park’s eastern edge, but thankfully Tiergarten is now viewed only in terms of the beautiful green space it provides. A great place to escape the busy Berlin streets and relax amongst lovely trees, plants and flowers.
Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe is a field of 2,711 concrete slabs each of which have their own foundation and tilt at differing angles. Designed by Peter Eisenmann, this moving memorial is arranged in undulating rows over 19,000m. A powerful memorial to the Jewish people of Europe. |
