National Archaeological Museum The National Archaeological Museum has one of the most celebrated collections in the world with artifacts dating back to 6800 BC. Highlights of this fabulous museum include the Mycenaean antiquities and Galleries 14-28 which house some of most important sculptures from classical Greece. Opening hours are 8am-7.30pm Tuesday to Sunday and 1pm-7.30pm on Mondays.
National Gardens The National Gardens in Athens provide a sanctuary of relaxation in what can be a stressful city. Greece’s first queen oversaw the planting of 15,000 domestic in this wonderful garden which was opened to the public in 1923. With literally hundred of statues, trellised promenades, duck ponds, a botanical museum, a children’s library and so much more, the National Gardens are one of the cities most popular attractions. Opening hours are 7am till dusk |
