Continued from page 1 How does it feel to be a lesbian? There is no overriding lesbian feeling. All lesbians are different just like everyone else. You sexual preference is just on part of your make up - it helps your find out who you are but it doesn't define you. There is a tendency amongst homosexuals to feel a sense of guilt about their sexual orientation. Indeed some lesbians can have very low self esteem because they feel they are doing something wrong. Fortunately, with today's more modern values and openness about such issues this is less common than in the past. However, if you do feel uncomfortable you should talk to other lesbians about your concerns. Often a few wise words can make all the difference and let you get on with your life.
Sex doesn't have to involve a penis. Indeed many lesbians feel greater pleasure can be achieved without significant vaginal insertion. Touching, kissing and rubbing can provide immense pleasure and of course penetration isn't excusive tosex between a man and woman. There is also a greater sense of mutual fulfillment with lesbian sex. However, woman to woman love making isn't without it's dangers. Although lesbians are less likely to transmit sexually transmitted diseases including HIV than gay men or straight couple, they are still are risk. The same precautions should still be applied. How can I find a partner? If you are at college or university, most campuses have gay and lesbian organizations where you can meet other people of your sexual orientations.
