4. Buttercup

Another of the most common weeds in the UK. The buttercup has broken leaves and the recognizable small yellow flower which appears towards the end of spring.

5. Horsetail

This fast-spreading weed can be identified by it tall, straight stem with thin green branches. It resembles a fern somewhat but without the foliage.

6. Dock

This weed has very large leaves and a branched stem. In summer it produces small red or green flowers.

7. Gout weed

In summer you can spot this weed through its small white flowers on the end of a thin stem. It's small leaves are of the jagged variety. This weed is also sometimes known as ground elder.
