Style Tip 48. Vertical stripes

If you're a little on the short side, clothes with vertical stripes can really make you look taller.

Whether it's a stripy jacket or pinstriped trousers, a few well placed vertical lines can make a noticeable difference to your stature.

These lovely lines also work wonders for the slightly fuller lady, giving her the appearance on a taller, slimmer figure.

However, if you're tall and thin, vertical stripes should be avoided unless you want to look like a giant bean pole.
