Style Tip 55. Proportions
You may think that for clothes to be in proportion, they must all
be of a similar size and thickness.
But you would be wrong.
Teaming a bulky sweater with thick, wide trousers will make you
look like you've gained fifty ponds.
Combining a figure hugging skirt with a tight t-shirt will make
you look like you're desperate for attention.
The general rule of fashion proportion is that fullness on top
should be combined with slimness on the bottom, and vice versa.
For example a fitted shirt looks fabulous with wide, flared trousers.
And a pair of skinny jeans are wonderfully complimented by a loose
top.
So remember, big up top equals small down below.
