Style Tip 24. Hold-ups that stay up

How many times have your worn hold-up stockings only to find them slipping down your things at the most inopportune moment?

If you're anything like us, you choose to blame the stockings rather than yourself, and declare never to wear them again.

However, all this can be avoided by understanding just how hold-ups work.

The stockings have a silicon coated band around the top of each thigh.

It's this silicon layer that holds the material in place. But this only works if the skin around the thigh is dry.

Any grease or moisture, such as that produced by body moisturizer, will prevent the stockings from adhering properly to your skin.

So don't give up on hold-ups... just keep your upper legs dry when you wear them.
