Is a sleigh cot for my baby's nursery a good idea, and how much do they cost?

Is a sleigh cotbed better than an ordinary cot? Is it safer, more comfortable or more practical? Not in the slightest.

A sleigh cot bed is simply a regular cot with curvy sleigh type ends. However, those lovely curves do make it look fabulous.

Sleigh cotbeds do tend to cost a little more than standard cots but you will find numerous examples online for around 200. And remember, a cotbed will see your little one though to age five or six, so you will get good use out of it.

However, if you have a small nursery, a sleigh cot bed probably isn't the wisest choice. The curves may be lovely to look at but they do take up more room than a standard cot. And as most mothers know, even the biggest nursery can soon fill up.
