Actress Sylvia Syms to appear in EastEnders

Monday 12th March 2007

Acclaimed actress Sylvia Syms is to appear in BBC soap Eastenders next month.

The 73 year old veteran performer will star in several episodes of the London based drama as a mystery character who in connected to Peggy Mitchell.

An Eastenders spokesperson said:

“Sylvia's already filmed her episodes. She plays a woman called Olive who is not related to any of the other characters."

"But she and Peggy have a secret connection which is part of a much bigger storyline.”

Syms was most recently seen playing the Queen Mother alongside Helen Mirren is the Academy Award winning film The Queen.
