| Helen Worth raves
over new Platt family story line
Monday September 17th 2007
Coronation Street actress Helen Worth believes that the Platt
family's latest sensational storyline is one of the best ever.
The actress's character Gail faces a new drama next week when her
son David puts his niece Bethany in danger when he stashes an ecstasy
tablet in her doll.
The youngster takes the pill, mistaking it for a sweet, and has
to be rushed to hospital.
Helen was part of one of the Street's biggest ever storylines when
Gail married serial killer Richard in 2002, but she thinks that
the Platts' latest plot is even more dramatic.
She said "Who would have thought you could have got better
than psycho Richard Hillman? But this storyline takes over from
that. It's just fantastic and brilliant writing."
"Gail totally blames herself. She has tried to be a good mum,
but life has gone against her. Gail is there to show people how
not to bring up your children."
Meanwhile, former Coronation Street star Nigel Pivaro has been
asked to make a return to the soap.
Producers want the actor to reprise his role as bad boy Terry Duckworth
for several episodes in November.
His return would be linked to the departure of Street favourite
Liz Dawn, who plays his on screen mother Vera.
A Corrie spokeswoman said:
"Nigel has been approached to see if he is available to come
back to the show. Ideas are still coming from the scriptwriting
team for Liz Dawn's departure, but we would like the character of
Terry to be involved."
