Prince William of Wales (William Arthur Philip Louis Mountbatten-Windsor) was born on June 21st 1982 in St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London. He is the elder son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, and second in the line of succession to the British throne.

He studied at Eton College gaining A-level's in geography, biology and history of art. Upon leaving the famous public school, he decided to take a gap year. In his year off he took part in British Army training in Belize before working as a volunteer with Raleigh International in southern Chile.

Prince William then attended the University of St Andrews in Scotland, studying Arts History before changing his main subject to Geography.

In January 2006, the Prince decided to train as an Officer Cadet at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He joined his younger brother Harry, who had been at the famous army school since May 2005.
