| Owen Wilson Biography Owen Cunningham Wilson was born in Dallas, USA on November 18th 1968. After a spell in military academy in New Mexico, he attended the University of Texas. It was here he met future movie director Wes Anderson. The two hit it off and their mutual love of movies led them to write a screenplay, Bottle Rocket. The script eventually reached producer James L. Brooks who gave the duo $5m to make it into a feature film. The resulting film released in 1996 didn't make a profit but it did send Wes and Owen on the path to fame and fortune.
Owen then made appearances in movies such as The Cable Guy (1996), Anaconda (1997) and Armageddon (1998). However, it was his performance in Shanghai Noon (2000) that helped him make the leap him from supporting actor to genuine movie star.
Since then, Owen has starred in string of successful movies including I Spy (2002), Starskey and Hutch (2004) and Wedding Crashers (2005).
