| Orlando Bloom Biography Orlando Jonathan Blanchard Bloom was born in Canterbury, England on January 13th 1977. After studying poetry and prose as a teenager, he joined the National Youth Theatre and thereafter the British American Drama Academy.
He made his screen debut aged twenty in the movie Wilde (1997) opposite Stephen Fry. However, he wisely decided to continue to acting studies and attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. It was here that he met the man who would change his life forever, Peter Jackson.
The New Zealand director was looking for actors for his film adaptation of The Lord of The Rings trilogy. Orlando was offered the part of Legolas, the movies became three of the greatest films of our time and Orlando became one of the biggest stars in the world. |
