Nigel Harman was born in Purley, England on August 11th 1973. He made his screen debut aged just eight when he appeared in a stock cube commercial. In the years that followed, he worked mainly on stage in plays and musicals such as Mamma Mia, Three Sisters and A Midsummer Night's Dream.

It was when he was performing in Mamma Mia that he was spotted by a member of an Eastenders casting agent. Nigel's first audition for the popular soap as a policeman wasn't successful. He then tried again, this time for the role of a fireman. But once again the part went to someone else.

Finally, he auditioned for the role of Dennis Rickman, the son of Den Watts. It was a case of third time lucky as Nigel got the part and made his Eastenders debut on April 14th 2003.

Since then Nigel has established himself as one of the most popular characters on Albert Square as well as one of the sexiest men on British television.
