David Jude Law was born in London, England on December 29th 1972. He began acting with the National Youth Music Theatre in 1984 and dropped out of school five years later to star in the ill fated television soap opera Families.

He then turned his attention to the stage work, appearing in several acclaimed plays in London and New York. His success in the theatre led to the movies Shopping (1994), Wilde (1997) and Gattaca (1997).

However, it was his performance in The Talented Mr. Ripley (1999) as tanned Dickie Greenleaf that made people sit up and take notice of this talented English actor.

Since then, Jude has become one of the most in demand actors in Hollywood with a series of successful movies including Road to Perdition (2002), Cold Mountain (2003) and Closer (2004).
