Jared Joseph Leto was born in Louisiana, USA on December 26th 1971. He made his screen debut aged just eleven in the television series Camp Wilder (1992).

However, his first big break came two years later when he was cast as the high school heartthrob in the popular show My So-Called Life. His performance as Jordan Catalano brought him to the attention of Hollywood and Jared made his movie debut a year later in How to Make an American Quilt opposite Winona Ryder.

Jared has appeared in eighteen movies since then with highlights including Fight Club (1999), Requiem for a Dream (2000) and Panic Room (2002). He was most recently seen starring with Nicolas Cage in the arms dealer movie Lord of War (2005).
