Former Hollyoaks actor Alex Carter has signed up to join the ITV soap Emmerdale.
Alex will take on the role of Jamie Hope, Bob's estranged son.
The likeable actor, who played Lee Hunter in the Channel 4 show, was snapped up by Emmerdale bosses as soon as he finished Hollyoaks.
Executives at the ITV soap are more than happy with their latest acquisition, and Alex is delighted at joining one of the UK's biggest shows.
Alex said ,"It was just brilliant pulling up in a car at the village and seeing it all. I had my picture taken outside the Woolpack with a pint in my hand, not for publicity reasons or anything like that, but as a memento. When you've been in one soap, you don't ever think you'll end up doing another."
Alex was born on July 7th 1982 in Oldham, Lancashire. He briefly appeared on the television series Where the Heart Is, before landing the role of Lee in Hollyoaks in 2001.
