| Harrison Ford Biography Harrison Ford was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 13th 1942. He dropped out of Ripon College in Wisconsin after signing a Hollywood contract with movie studio Columbia. However, despite small roles in films such as The Virgian (1962) his career didn't quite take off and he decided to pursue a career in professional carpentry.
But then in 1973 a young movie director called George Lucas decided to cast him in his new movie American Graffiti. The film was a huge success but more importantly it led to Harrison and George teaming up again for Star Wars in 1977.
Harrison's role as Han Solo turned him into one of the biggest stars in the world and led to movies such as Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Blade Runner (1981) and of course the Star Wars sequels.
In the 1990's Harrison continued to entertain audiences and satisfy Hollywood money men with huge box office movies such as The Fugitive (1993), Clear and Present Danger (1994) and Air Force One (1997).
