Paul Potts responds to verbal attack
Wednesday March 21st 2007
Paul Potts, the opera singing winner of Britain's Got Talent, has hit
back at criticism from The Enemy frontman Tom Clarke.
Clarke was furious to hear that Potts' debut album looks set to knock
his band's We'll Live And Die In These Towns off the top of the UK. He
roared:
"I've just heard that we are about to be knocked off Number One
by that fat bloke from Britain's Got Talent. It's a f***ing disgrace.
Nobody will know who this bloke is this time next year. If he thinks he
is going be making music in a year's time then he has another thing coming."
But Potts is adamant that this won't be the case. In response he said:
"The best is yet to come. My tour starts in January and I'll be
singing for the rest of my life."
Potts, a former mobile phone salesman, won the ITV talent show after
bowling the judges and the voting public over with his rendition of Nessun
Dorma.
