Jesse Metcalfe checks into rehab

Desperate Housewives hunk Jesse Metcalfe has checked himself into rehab to to try to overcome his alcohol problem.

The actor was compelled to seek help after allegedly being banned from a Hollywood hotel for verbally abusing a member of staff while under the influence.

Jesse's spokesperson made the revelation yesterday saying:

"On Monday, Jesse Metcalfe entered a rehab facility to deal with alcohol issues. He realized he had a problem and was anxious to deal with it immediately. The actor hopes that the media will allow him the privacy to deal properly with his treatment."

Jesse shot to fame as the teenage gardener John Rowland on the popular drama series Desperate Housewives, where his character had a secret relationship with housewife Gabrielle Solis played by Eva Longoria.

Metcalfe has been dating Nadine Coyle from British girl band Girls Aloud for the last two years and the celebrity couple are believed to be preparing to tie the knot.
