Brian McFadden dropped by record label

Former Westlife star Brian McFadden has been dropped by his record label Sony BMG because of poor album sales.

The 26-year-old left the popular Irish pop group in 2004 in order pursue a solo career.

Brian's debut single Real To Me reached number one but he has struggled to match that success with subsequent releases.

It's unclear whether McFadden will now try to find a new record company or put his weight behind the growing push for a Westlife comeback.

Brian is still dating former Neighbours star and Australian singer Delta Goodrem.

His marriage to former Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona finally ended in divorce December 2006 after the couple announced their separation way back in September 2004. Brian and Kerry have two daughters: Molly Marie McFadden (born August 31 2001), and Lilly-Sue McFadden (born February 3 2003).
