| Goran Visnjic Biography Goran Visnjic was born in Sibenik, Croatia on September 9th 1972. He studied acting at the Academy of Dramatic Arts in Zagreb and made his movie debut in the Croatian film Braca Po Materi (1988). Several more domestic projects followed but few helped further Goran's career.
It wasn't until 1997, when he won a role in Welcome to Sarajevo alongside Woody Harelson, that his career began to gather pace. His impressive performance led to several offers from Hollywood and Goran quickly packed his bags and headed West. In the year or so that followed he made rapid appearances in The Peacemaker (1997), Rounders (1998) and Practical Magic (1998).
In 1999 the producers of the television show ER were looking for someone to fill George Clooney's shoes, and Goran was the lucky man they called. His role as Dr. Luka Kovac in the hugely popular medical drama series has propelled Goran to international stardom and ensured he need never work again. The boy from Croatia has certainly come a long way. |
