George Timothy Clooney was born in Kentucky, USA on May 6th 1961. After studying at Northern Kentucky University, he packed his bags and headed for L.A to become an actor in 1982. However, like many hopefuls before him, he quickly discovered the harsh reality of Hollywood.

Twelve years went by, and all George had to show for his efforts were a handful of poor movies and abyssal television shows. However, his life was to change unimaginably when in 1994 he was offered the role of Doug Ross in a new hospital drama series. The show was named ER and soon became one of the highest rating programmes on US television. George jumped from unsuccessful actor to one of the hottest stars in the world.

Since then George has starred in a string of Hollywood movies including Out of Sight (1998), The Perfect Storm (2000) and Ocean's Eleven (2001).
