| Ewan McGregor Biography Ewan Gordon McGregor was born in Perthshire, Scotland on March 31st 1971. He left school at sixteen to join the Perth Repertory Theatre before studying at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama. However, he decided to forgo graduating when he was offered a part in Dennis Potter's new television series Lipstick on Your Collar (1993).
Ewan's next project was another television series, The Scarlet and the Black (1993) where he played the memorable character Julien Sorel.
