Former Eastenders star Mike Reid has turned down an offer from BBC bosses to return to Albert Square.
The soap's producers wanted Mike's legendry character Frank Butcher to return to Walford again but this time on a more permanent basis
But the 66-year-old has said no, stating that he's just too old for the punishing Eastenders schedules.
Mike quit Eastenders in 2000 after a memorable thirteen year spell on the show. Since then he has returned to the Square briefly for the 2002 special episode in Spain where Peggy discovers he'd faked his own death, and last year year for his daughter Janine's murder trial.
