| David Beckham Biography David Robert Joseph Beckham (or golden balls for short) was born on May 2nd 1975 in Leytonstone, London. His talent for the game of football was evident from a young age. He was signed by Manchester United to their youth training program at the age of 14. He made his first-team debut in 1992 and by 1995 he had established himself as one of their best players.
In the eight years that followed, David helped Man Utd win a sting of trophies including the treble (Premiership, FA Cup and Champions League) in 1999.
I999 was also the year when David married Victoria Adams from the Spice Girls and the couple are still together today with three children, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.
David left Manchester in 2003 to join Spanish team Real Madrid and despite rumours of a return to England, that is where he remains today.
David's international career began when he made his debut for England against Moldova on 1 September, 1996. He was appointed captain of his country in 2001 and in total has won well over 60 caps. |
