Christian Charles Philip Bale was born in Haverfordwest, Wales on January 30th 1974. After minor stage and screen roles, Christian shot to worldwide fame as the thirteen year old star of Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun (1987). His performance was hailed as one of the best ever by a child actor.

Since then, Christian has been appeared in nearly thirty movies and television shows including Little Women (1994), Portrait of a Lady (1996) and A Midsummer Night's Dream (1999).

However, his second big break of his career came in the year 2000 when he as cast as the infamous character Patrick Bateman in the movie American Psycho. He followed that up with roles in Shaft (2000), Captain Corelli's Mandolin (2001) and Reign of Fire (2002).

Christian was already a rising star in Hollywood but his career was soon to enter a whole new level when he was cast as the latest actor to wear the famous black rubber suit in Batman Begins (2005). The film was a huge success. The franchise was back on track. And Christian was the King of Hollywood.
