Walter Bruce Willis was born in Idar-Oberstein, Germany on March 19th 1955. He grew up in Penns Grove, New Jersey before moving to New York to pursue a career as an actor.

After working as an extra in a handful of forgettable movies, Bruce received his big break when he was cast as David Addison in a new television series, Moonlighting (1985). The show became a huge success and Bruce quickly became one of the hottest properties in television.

Bruce then made the step into the world of Hollywood with roles in movies such as Blind Date (1987) and Sunset (1988). However, his career was soon to explode when he was cast as John McClane in a new action movie Die Hard (1988). The film was phenomenally successful and pawned three sequels and established Bruce as one of the biggest stars in the world.

As well as the Die Hard movies, Bruce has appeared in critically acclaimed films such as Pulp Fiction (1994), Twelve Monkeys (1995) and The Sixth Sense (1999).
