| Ben Affleck Biography
Benjamin Geza Affleck was born on August 15th 1972 in Berkeley, California. Ben wanted to be an actor as soon as he saw his first movie. By the age of twelve he had his first steady acting job on the PBS mini-series The Voyage of the Mimi (1984). It was also at this age when Ben met his lifelong friend and movie collaborator, Matt Damon.
After many years of scraping a living Ben was cast in the popular
teenager's movie Dazed and Confused (1993). He followed that up
with mostly independent films like Kevin Smith's Mallrats (1995)
and Chasing Amy (1997)
His childhood friend Matt Damon, was having similar trouble getting
a foothold in Hollywood, so the ambitious pair set about writing
their own screenplay for themselves to act in. Good Will Hunting
was what they came up with the movie was made in 1997 with the two
actors turned writers in the main roles. The movie was a huge success
with Ben and Matt winning an Academy Award for their screenplay.
Suddenly the two almost unknown actors had Hollywood at their feet.
It was a genuine Cinderella story.
Since then Ben has starred in a string of blockbuster movies including
Armageddon (1998), Shakespeare in Love (1998) and Pearl Harbor (2001)
and Daredevil (2003). However, in the last few years his career
has gone sharply downhill and now desperately needs a hot to stop
the alarming slide.
Ben is married to the actress Jennifer Garner, who he starred with
in the movie Daredevil (2003). The celebrity couple became proud
parents to a daughter, Violet Anne Affleck, on December 1st 2005.
