| Antonio Banderas Biography
Jose Antonio Dominguez Bandera (no, we haven't forgotten the last letter or his surname) was born in Malaga, Spain on August 10th 1960. He made his movie debut aged 22 in the Spanish film Pestanas Postizas (1982) and slowly began to make a name for himself in European cinema.
After acclaimed roles in Matador (1986) and Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! (1990) his big break came in 1992 when he was cast in The Mambo Kings (1992). This sexy dance drama brought Antonio to the attention of the English speaking world and it wasn't long before he was packing his bags for Hollywood.
In the mid nineties he made several successful American movies such as Philadelphia (1993), Desperado (1995) and Evita (1996). In 1998 he was cast as the legendry character Zorro in the film The Mask of Zorro (1998), a role he recently reprised for The Legend of Zorro (2005).
