The Picture Perfect Diet is a portion size focused weight loss program developed by Dr Shapiro. It is primarily based on people's relationship with food and how they go about eating what they do.

What does the plan involve?
The Picture Perfect diet is based on choosing low-calorie foods that can be eaten in large quantities rather than high-calorie foods that can't. It involves pictorial food comparison to help dieters understand the calorie content of different foods. Picture Perfect users are advised to keep a food diary for at least a week detailing not just what they ate but also where, when and why they did so. The diet plan also recommends regular exercise to encourage weight loss and improve overall health and well-being.

Food and recipes
The Picture Perfect diet plan does not prohibit any food or drink. You can eat anything you like but only in the knowledge that high fat or high sugar food will also be high in calories. The food pictures help explain the consequence of large portion sizes, and therefore encourage you to eat sensibly.

Exercise
Early versions of this plan gives exercise recommendations but there is no mention of exercising in the more recent 30 day plan.

Practicality
Eating out when on the Picture Perfect diet won't pose a problem, assuming you understand the types of food on the menu. Alcohol and caffeine are not prohibited. You won't need to buy any special foods in order to follow the plan. The program is perfectly suitable for vegetarians.

Celebrity followers
The Picture Perfect eating plan has not been linked to many celebrities but you can be sure that any number of stars have tried the program. Whether they successfully lost weight with the picture perfect program is another question.

Does the plan work?
Combining a healthy balanced diet with regular experience, the Picture Perfect Diet is an excellent program to help you lose wight. Its focus on food choices, rather than food rules and regulations, allows you to make sensible decisions about what you eat, giving you the best chance to lose weight permanently.
