A certain well known cod liver oil television advertisement gives the impression that the product will literally oil your joints.
Although this isn't strictly true, cod liver oil is very good for your joints. It contains anti-inflammatory substances called prostaglandins that have been proven to help those suffering from painful or swollen joints.
However, cod liver oil's credentials don't end there. It is equally beneficial for your bones due to its high content of vitamin D.
